"Luminous ruby color. Forest berries, spices, leather, moist earth and dried plum, layered in the ..." ~ Roberto Stucchi, Winemaker

The Stucchi Prinetti family, owners of Badia a Coltibuono, has made wine in Chianto Classico for over 160 years. Prepare to be wowed by the delicious combination of bright, red fruit, the perfect amount of harmonious acidity, a hint of violets and earth, and clean, generous finish of this Badia a Coltibuono RS (Roberto Stucchi) Chianti Classico. Proprio spettacolare! It's a true and pure example of this rich Tuscan terroir. Enjoy your first glass with a generous serving of Prosciutto di Parma with lusciously ripe cantaloupe or fresh figs if you can find them. The gentle salt of the ham opposite the sweetness of the fruit will pair gorgeously with the crispness and beautiful fruit of this Chianti. When deciding on the entree, make sure the word tomato is used generously. Pastas with meats and tomatoes, slow-cooked chicken dishes, lamb and more will bring out the best in this Tuscan treasure. If pasta is your choice, we suggest cavatelli with braised rabbit, parsnips and mint. If everybody's hungry, you could follow that with chicken braised with tomatoes, olives and fennel. For the good, solid structure of this Badia a Coltibuono, grill your favorite steak or barbecue some pork tenderloins. The possibilities are endless. If it's a lazy, late supper, pizza with onions, pancetta and grilled porcini mushrooms will leave you wanting more. Catch your breath and then open just one more bottle. Savor it with a properly zesty aged Provolone and everyone will go home happy. La vita è breve winelovers! Bere questo Chianti!

    James Suckling:
"I like the lemon twist with cherry and strawberry aromas and flavors. Medium body, crisp finish. Very drinkable now." Oct 2015

Winery: "Luminous ruby color. Forest berries, spices, leather, moist earth and dried plum, layered in the aroma. Soft, round taste, well-balanced acidity and clean and persistent aftertaste. It is a fruity, soft wine that is particularly food friendly. Very pleasing, and ready to drink. The wine is organically farmed."

Roberto Stucchi on Chianti Classicos: "I love CC from Sangiovese for its elegance, finesse, food friendliness, and for how the light penetrates it and gives it brilliance. What really bugs me is when an overly concentrated and heavily oaked muscular wine pretends to be a Sangiovese." Roberto studied wine at UC Davis, worked at Chappelet and then returned to Italy and brought the family vineyards back to their natural and organic state. His mantra is all about sustainability and quality and it is the reason the Badia a Coltibuono wines are thought of as highly internationally as they are in their home country.
