Clifford Bay Estate New Zealand PInot Noir 2008
Winery: "The Clifford Bay Pinot Noir is produced from a premium vineyard situated in the Awatere Valley Marlborough. The wine has a bright garnet colour and shows vibrant black cherry notes balanced with spicy French Oak. The palate has fine tannin structure and a long soft finish. Ready to drink now but will also reward further cellaring for up to 4 years."
Wired For Wine: Our first choices to go with this luscious Clifford Bay are roast duck or salmon. With a beautiful, crisp duck, a tart cherry chutney on the side would be fantastic. And, to balance out that slightly sweet note, we recommend a hearty pasta, some mushroom risotto, or a spinach pie. This Pinot works well with several other meat choices, so if you're a pork loin lover, or can't get enough lamb, the Clifford Bay will not disappoint. How about some grilled rib chops, a side of pesto pasta, and some sauteed spinach with a hint of bacon in them? Pour a generous glass and sit down with some room temperature Camembert or Gruyere and let the inspiration come to you.
