Churton Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2006
Vins & Vignobles: "The nose is expressive with citrus and exotic fruit and a beautiful aromatic freshness. After an invigorating rush, the mouthfeel is pure with a big freshness. All is in balance, in line with the acidity. The finale with citrus is delicate and totally with finesse and elegance."

Otago Daily Times: "Classy, complex wine, about as restrained and polite as Marlborough Sauvignon can be. With aromas and mouth–filling flavours from floral and tropical to red capsicum, citrus and mineral, it is as much about texture, balance and harmony as pungency and fruit. It’s finely made with a long, lingering finish." Sep 2007 Winery: "Intensely perfumed with mineral, citrus and floral, the palate is bone dry with fresh crisp primary fruit and a soft creaminess leading through to a citrus component and clean acidity. It then finishes complex and subtle with a lingering mineral flavour. The juice was clarified to brightness and then underwent a long slow and cool fermentation using neutral yeast. This treatment retains the maximum freshness and aromatic intensity." Wired For Wine: The texture, balance and harmony of the Churton Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc combined with its pungency and fruit make it the perfect companion for countless vegetables, herbs, fish and chicken concoctions. Where to begin? The Churton is a lovely, refreshing aperitif on its own, or with a big bowl of just-made guacamole. If you're heading directly into the meal, we suggest a puree of asparagus soup. Because it works so well with herbs and herb sauces, a terrific vegetarian option is linguine with pesto. This Sauvignon Blanc is great at showcasing pure ingredients; we love it with a simply grilled fresh swordfish steak. This Churton's bright, clean nature allows it to counter cream and butter brilliantly. Whip up some creamy, garlic-smashed potatoes to that end, and serve them with an indulgent platter of fried chicken. Delicious. And finally, the bone dry palate of this wine makes it a natural with many cheeses. Open another bottle and settle in with one or our favorites, a French goat's milk cheese, Chabichou du Poitou. Welcome to Heaven. Size: 750ml Vintage: 2006 Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc Alcohol: 13.5% Region: Marlborough, New Zealand
