Robert Parker, Jr.: "Not many wineries, anywhere in the world, can match the Wagner family's consistent record of success."
Wine Spectator: "This zeroes in on a rich, hedonistic core of wild berry, blackberry, plum and currant flavors, with a graceful, elegant mouthfeel and supple, caressing tannins. The long and powerful yet refined aftertaste keeps reverberating fruit generosity while maintaining Cabernet's strength of personality. Drink now through 2030." Oct 2016 (Advance)
Trade Notes: "A rich, dense ruby color, hints at the dark fruit nose of blackberry and currant that carries through to the palate, interwoven with complex aromas of black licorice, anise and crème de cassis. On the palate, the wine opens up to reveal an earthiness, with brown spice, cigar box and ripe dark fruits that linger throughout the extracted and long finish. The texture is opulent and rich, yet has a velvety quality with supple density. Rich, fine-grained tannins are balanced with ripe fruit, acidity and oak.
Incredibly intense purple fruits, melted chocolate, wild berries and lavish oak layers float seamlessly together in the glass and remind anyone enjoying it that legacies of quality aren’t built without an impeccable track record. Any fan of Napa Cabernet needs this in the cellar."
Winery: "Caymus Special Selection is the flagship wine of the Wagner family and is comprised of the very best barrels of the vintage. This wine is not produced in difficult years. Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is the only wine in the world twice honored as "Wine of the Year" by Wine Spectator Magazine (chosen amongst approximately 10,000 wines). In addition, this wine was honored with the highest average score rating by the same magazine over the last 15 years.
